There are a lot of energy efficiency and renewable energy actions that can make your life more comfortable, more convenient and more affordable, but nothing compares to electric vehicles in terms of flat out fun! Once you experience the instant torque, the quiet ride, and the convenience of fueling up at home you will have trouble understanding how you put up with gasmobiles for so long.

Types of cars:

Fully Electric: has a large battery; can only be fueled by electricity
Plug-in Hybrid: has a battery that provides some distance of all-electric range; the electric range can be provided by plugging in to an electricity source; secondary fuel – petroleum product
Hybrid: has a small battery that increases fuel efficiency; no all-electric range; completely fueled by petroleum product
ICE: internal combustion engine only

Recommendation:

I do not recommend ICE or hybrid vehicles. Neither of those options allow electric fueling. The other two categories allow their owners to get in a lot of all electric driving. Since we will all soon be riding around in electric, self-driving cars, don’t stress over whether plug-on hybrids or fully electric vehicles are best.

Click on the links below for my top recommendation in the Fully Electric and Plug-in Hybrid categories. Before you do, check out the bullet points to help you narrow down which vehicle type is best for you.
